Tell us about yourself – where did you grow up, since when have you been cooking, what inspired you – anything.

My journey to being a chef began when I was 16 yrs old. I was keen to learn how to make Italian and Mexican food as I was very fond of these cuisines and they were not easily available back then. Not being very fond of traditional Gujju food at home drove me to learn making what I loved to eat! Mum’s cooking & reading recipe books helped develop my culinary passion.

What kind of restaurants do you like to visit?

I like many restaurants in Mumbai, but some of my most favorites are The Table, Ellipsis and Yauatcha.

Which cuisine do you like to cook the most?

I love Mexican food, and I love cooking up Tex-Mex dishes like tacos, fajita, fresh salsas, et al.

How would you describe a perfect day for you?

A perfect day for me would be cooking at home for my closest friends & having them over for drinks & food.

Tell us about Little Food Co.  What inspired you to start it?

The Little Food Co originally started as a weekend project as I intended to cater only for my family and friends; cooking for about 8-12 people. However, from our very first weekend, things started falling in place for something bigger. Within 8 months I had quit my media job and took the humble weekend project to the next level. With every quarter, we grew bigger and started catering for more and more people. The journey so far has been exciting. It’s been 5 years since then and today we are a team of 20; serving 700-1000 people every month.

What do you do in your free time?

I watch a lot of TV! In fact, before Little Food Co. happened, I used to work with a TV channel.

Which are your most favorite TV Shows?

I enjoy the drama genre and some of the shows I have liked are Game of Thrones, Grey’s Anatomy, Sex & the City.

What’s your dream travel destination?

Italy! I am fascinated by its landscape, architecture and of course, the food.

Have you tried food from Holachef (made by another chef)? How was your experience?

Yes, I have. I love the idea of not eating from the regular menus from the same restaurants. A good experience, I would say.
