Food and Personality Traits

Do you know the best way to explore a culture is through its food? Of course you know that! It’s because of eating fries and burgers that you know why America is struggling with obesity.

Almost 200 years ago, Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (it took us 3 days to get the spelling right) wrote, “Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are.” And we couldn’t agree more! Like astrology, your food type can decipher your personality.

Remember how people joke about ‘the morning after’ when someone eats a little too much spicy food? What they don’t know is that those who eat hot dishes actually have more endurance for pain (and hence can endure the morning after troubles very well!). Talking of that, check out this cool infographic on hot-hot chili!

Moving on, did you know that potato or meat lovers are prone to be more social? It’s the proteins at work! So much for calling someone a lazy couch potato when in reality they are the life of the party. And those who stay away from these are actually more open to try newer things in life (and are experimental with their food too)!

On the other hand, people with sweet tooth not only have more cavities but are also more generous than others. Isn’t that really sweet? In fact, those who dig into vanilla flavor in ice creams are known to be very impulsive; especially when it comes to indulging in a cup of ice cream!

And don’t you worry about putting on extra calories with all that sweetness-overload! It’s known that one who has a positive sense of self worth reflects the same in his her body! (Be positive to look good – it’s as simple as that). This is also interesting because here the personality actually affects the choice of food and not the other way round.

But what about those people who mix everything up and eat all of these? You’d suppose they show signs of schizophrenia! Well, not really! They are actually just a little complicated when it comes to prioritizing their responsibilities. You can call them muddle-heads ?

We could go on and on with this but what interests us more is what you like! If there was one dish that you can have every day, which one would it be? It could very well be chocolate cake or beef steak. Just say the word (or leave a comment here) and we will have it listed for you on

Every person born and brought up in Rajasthan loves Dal-Baati.. Coming from Rajasthan, I equally am fond of this dish.. but I am more fond of Laal Maas served with Baati.

P.S. And if you do get this listed, please list it on a weekend or weekday dinner so that I can have it peacefully creating all the mess at my home and not office :p
