Palak Rice with Salan
Rice cooked with a puree of boiled spinach leaves, flavoured with ginger, garlic, green chillies and finished off with a seasoning of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and cashews; to be relished with deep fried chillies simmered in a thick gravy of groundnuts, white sesame seeds, dry coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, tomatoes, tamarind and jaggery.
